Making effective decisions can be a challenge, especially given the cognitive constraints of the human brain.

As such, specific strategies for identifying the underlying problems, as well as generating and choosing good options, are a valuable addition to the toolkit of anyone wishing to improve their everyday effectiveness.

  • Improving the procesess of individual and team decision making, as related to picking the right technological solutions, making better estimates, improving prioritetization of features, etc.
  • increasing the effectiveness of daily development decisions

Training Program

The content of our program can be customised during pre-training analysis.

  1. The brain and how influences decision making
  2. Dual process theory in decision making
  3. The basic structure of decision making, the inherent cognitive biases and the application of appropriate techniques to minimize them
  4. Preparing the right environment (methods: brainstorming)
  5. Describing the current situation (methods: delayed answers, know/don’t know matrix, the anti-problem.)
  6. Propose options (methods: shareholder analysis, force-field analysis, generating solutions outside of the box)
  7. Analyze options (methods: decision matrix, significance matrix)
  8. Choosing the best options (methods: deciding on priorities, Eisenhower matrix in decision making, maximizers/satisfiers, game theory, decision tree, explore vs exploit, instant decisions, pre mortem, risk analysis)
  9. Prepare an implementation plan and verify it (methods: checklist generation, RACI matrix, Vonnegut strategy/Action Planning)
  10. Engage the shareholders and begin implementation
  11. Emotions in decision making (methods: defining emotions, picking effective goals)
  12. Decision Process Architecture – how to implement nudges moving people towards an effective implementation?
